RICARDO LARA FOR ASSEMBLY 2010 HITS MILESTONES AS MOMENTUM BUILDS
Campaign reports raising over $150,000
LOS ANGELES—Democrat Ricardo Lara reported a war chest of over $150,000 today for his campaign in the 50th Assembly District. Representing a broad and diverse group, the campaign fundraising has seen contributions come in from community organizations, small businesses, labor unions, elected officials and one-time small donors.
Coming on the heels of endorsements by organizations representing hundreds of thousands of working-class professionals, the Ricardo Lara for Assembly campaign continues to build momentum unmatched in the area.
Most recently, the Los Angeles College Faculty Guild joined the Los Angeles County Medical Association, State Senators Gil Cedillo and Ron Calderon, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, Assemblymembers Kevin De León, Warren Furutani, Norma Torres, and Mike Eng and Speaker-elect John A. Pérez in supporting Ricardo Lara’s candidacy.
“I’m honored that so many people have supported my campaign in whatever way they can,” said Ricardo Lara. “It demonstrates that my plan to fight for the American Dream has resonated with teachers, skilled craftsmen and small business owners.”
“We can’t stop now,” Lara added. “Our work is just beginning. I’ll be using my campaign to organize people so together we fight for our rights…the right to better wages, the right to a family doctor and the right to attend college.”
